Leading telecom operator Airtel has rolled out VoLTE services in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region. Airtel VoLTE will be available on popular 4G/LTE enabled mobile devices, which must have an Airtel 4G SIM, said the company in a statement.
Airtel also specified that the customers will not have to bear any additional data charges for VoLTE and calls will be billed as per existing plan or packs benefits.
Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, chief executive officer, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana,Bharti Airtel said, “Having built a world-class 4G network across the two geographies, we are delighted to roll out Airtel VoLTE for our customers. With the increasing penetration of VoLTE enabled smartphones in the market, Airtel customers can add to their calling experience to go with high speed data on India’s best smartphone network.”
Recently, the telecom operator introduced some new benefits for its select postpaid plans. Airtel postpaid users will now be able to enjoy unlimited free outgoing calls on national roaming and 20GB 4G data on the plan of Rs 499 with Infinity Postpaid. Along with this, subscribers will also get free Airtel Secure device protection plan for smartphones against physical damage and malware. Airtel users who will opt for the plan will also get free subscription to Wynk Music and Airtel Live TV.
On the other hand, for prepaid users, Airtel has rolled out a new plan which offers free roaming, voice and data benefits. The telco has introduced a plan of Rs 448, under which it will offer unlimited local and STD calls and 70GB data. The pack is available to all customers across India on any 4G/3G/2G device. Customers can activate the pack by visiting any Airtel retail outlet or through MyAirtel App.
