New DELHI: It seems that leading telecom operator Airtel has decided to shift its focus from data to voice calls. The telecom operator has rolled out a new prepaid plan which will enable Airtel users to enjoy unlimited calling.
The service provider has introduced a plan of Rs 299 which does not offer any data but will allow you to make unlimited calls across the country. The Rs 299 plan from Airtel offers unlimited voice calls even during roaming and comes without any FUP limit. Along with this the plan also allows users to send 100 SMS per day and it comes with the validity of 45 days.
Recently, Airtel rolled out the add-on plans in competition to Reliance Jio. The new add-on plans from Airtel will compete against the top up plans of Reliance Jio.
Reliance Jio was the first telecom operator to roll out the concept of top up plans in the country.
Airtel introduced the add-on plans of Rs 49 and Rs 193. Presently, the plans are available only in the telecom circles of Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The add-on plan of Rs 49 offers 1GB data, which will remain valid throughout the validity of your current plan. For example, if you are using the Rs 249 plan, which comes with a validity of 28 days and offers 2GB data per day, then you will get an extra 1GB on top of that if you use the add-on plan of Rs 49.
On the other hand, the add-on plan of Rs 193 offers 1GB data per day and this one is also valid for the same time period as your current plan. For instance, if you are using the plan of Rs 349, under which you are getting 2.5GB data per day, then if you top it up with the add-on plan of Rs 193 then you will get 3.5GB data per day with the same validity of 28 days.
