Huawei Mate 20 Pro could feature curved OLED display, enhanced fast charging

Huawei is expected to soon launch the Mate 20 Pro as a follow up on the Mate 10 Pro that was launched last year in October. A new report by GSMArena, suggests that it could be equipped with a curved OLED display, similar to the one used on the Mate RS Porsche Design edition. Additionally, going by a recent Chinese 3C certification, Huawei might be working on a new fast-charging technology that could surpass OnePlus’ Dash Charge and Oppo’s Super VOOC charging methods.

Talking about the display first, Huawei was previously rumoured to be in talks with Samsung regarding AMOLED displays. However, the panels are now reportedly being manufactured by the Chinese panel maker, BOE. As per the report, there could also be an in-display fingerprint sensor embedded into the curved OLED display panels and they are going into mass production. They are tipped to be ready before the expected October launch of the Mate 20 series. In another report, Huawei could be working on a new fast-charging technology called ‘Huawei Power adapter’, As per the sighting on 3C’s website, it is being developed by Astec Electronics.

The listing reveals that the new charging method is capable of delivering power in multiple modes, with the highest one being 10V at 4A and 40W of maximum power output. This is said to be nearly twice the current Huawei’s uses as the charging standard for its P20 series. The company is expected to use the new technology on the upcoming Mate 20 Pro. There are also rumours suggesting that the Mate 20 Pro could be equipped with a total of five cameras with three on the rear and two on the front. It could also be powered by the company’s unannounced Kirin 980 SoC. However, until we have any official confirmation, take this info with a pinch of salt.
