Idea Cellular’s new Rs 499 plan offers 164GB data with 82 days validity

NEW DELHI: It seems that the telecom data war is not going to end anytime soon. Now Idea Cellular has come up with a new plan to counter the plan offered by Reliance Jio.

Ideal Cellular has rolled out a plan of Rs 499, under which it is offering 164GB 4G/ 3G/ 2G data with the validity of 82 days. This new plan is only available for prepaid subscribers of Idea Cellular. Apart from data, Idea users will also be able to make unlimited local and STD calls and send 100 SMS per day as part of the plan.

Under the Rs 499 plan, Idea Cellular is giving 2GB data per day. In case users exhaust the daily limit then the service provider will charge 4 paise per 10KB. Along with this, there is also a catch to the unlimited part of the plan. The telco has set the daily FUP limit of 250 minutes for calling and 1,000 minutes for seven days. In case a user exhausts this limit then they will be charged at 1 paisa per second.

The Rs 499 plan from Idea Cellular will compete against the Rs 498 plan of Reliance Jio. Under the Rs 498 plan, Jio offers 182GB of total 4G data for the period of 91 days. Apart from Jio, Airtel also has a plan of Rs 499, which comes with the validity of 82 days and offers 164GB data.

Recently, Idea Cellular rolled out a offer for the OnePlus 6 users. The telco said that its postpaid users will get cashback of Rs 2,000. The company will be giving a discount of Rs 100 to the postpaid users per month for 20 billing cycles. Along with this, users will get 10GB data per month for the period of 20 months under the Nirvana Rs 499 plan.

On the other hand, prepaid Idea users will get 370GB additional data for the next 12 recharges.
