Realme 5s officially launched in India: 48-megapixel quad camera, 5000mAh battery and more

The Realme 5s is an upgrade over the Realme 5 with a better 48-megapixel main camera at back. Rest of the phone remains mostly similar to the Realme 5.

Earlier this year, Realme announced the Realme 5 in India with a quad-camera setup and a big battery. Today, alongside the Realme X2 Pro, the company has launched the updated Realme 5s in India. The Realme 5s is basically a minor mid-life upgrade over the Realme 5 with essentially a better 48-megapixel quad camera setup. And at Rs 9,999, it’s one of the cheapest 48-megapixel camera phones you can buy in India today.

The Realme 5s comes in two variants one comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and the other one comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The base version costs Rs 9,999 whereas the top-end variant comes for Rs 10,999. Realme is offering three colour variants on the Realme 5s Crystal Blue, Crustal Purple and Crystal Red. The Realme 5s will go on sale from November 29, 12 noon and it will be selling on Flipkart.

Realme 5s specifications:

The Realme 5s is essentially a slightly updated Realme 5 with only the main camera getting a big upgrade. The original Realme 5 came with a quad-camera setup, consisting of a 12-megapixel main camera along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera.

The new Realme 5s swaps out the 12-megapixel main camera for a 48-megapixel main camera at the back. Realme says users should experience better image quality across various lighting situations. The front camera still stays the same at 13-megapixel.

Realme is using the Samsung made 48-megapixel GM1 sensor for the main camera, which will allow for pixel binning to offer higher details and more sharpness.
