It seems like Samsung is not going to leave any stone unturned to regain its position as the numero uno of the Indian handset market. It has not even been a week and the South Korean tech giant is all set to launch another handset for the customers — the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime.
The company has sent out media invites for the launch of the upcoming handset on January 17. Just two days before the launch, the smartphone has been listed on GFXBench benchmarking website, revealing some of the key specifications. As per the listing, the Galaxy On7 Prime sports a 5.5-inch full HD display of 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It runs Android 7.1.1 and is powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage of which 25GB is available to the user. Further, the listing reveals that the handset has a 12MP rear and front camera module. The rear camera has features such as auto-focus, face detection and touch focus. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi and has accelerometer, light sensor and proximity sensor as well. Surprisingly, the listing says that the handset has single sim card support, which is strange as almost all smartphones today have dual-sim support.
Just like the recently launched Galaxy A8+ (2018), this handset is also going to be Amazon exclusive and already has a listing page. As per the Amazon page, there will be one more variant of the Galaxy On7 Prime which will have a 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. Besides this, the handset will offer a microSD card support of up to 256GB. Also, the Amazon listing suggests that the handset will have a 13MP camera setup at both front and back with f/1.9 aperture. We’ll have to wait for the launch to see the final specs and price of the Galaxy On7 Prime, which is not long now.
