NEW DELHI: Samsung has slashed the price of two of its A series smartphones in India. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) have received a second price cut within two months. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) were launched at Rs 28,990, and Rs 33,490 respectively. Now, both the devices have got a price cut of Rs 4,000 making the total price drop of Rs 9,000.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is now selling at Rs 17,990 and the Galaxy A7 (2017) is available at Rs 20,990. The company launched both the smartphones in March this year in India. In August, the smartphones received a price cut of Rs 5,000.
For those unaware, Samsung, with the launch of the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy A5 2017 versions, brought dust and water resistance (IP68) rating for the first time to Galaxy A series.
The duo sports Samsung-specific features like Samsung Cloud storage and Secure Folder, which debuted with Galaxy Note 7 last year. The dual-SIM smartphones came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) features a 5.7-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is backed by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz, clubbed with 3GB RAM. The smartphone includes 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD card support. The device bears a 16MP autofocus rear camera along with a 16MP front-facing camera, both of which feature f/1.9 aperture. The smartphones also boast of features like Food Mode and other filters.
It measures 156.8 x 77.6 x 7.9mm and is powered by a 3600mAh battery with fast-charging technology. Features such as fingerprint sensor and Samsung KNOX too are included. The connectivity options that come with the smartphone are 4G LTE Cat 6, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C and NFC.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has almost the same set of specifications as the Galaxy A7 (2017) except for the display, battery and size. It sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution Super display, 3000mAh battery and measures 146.1×71.4×7.9mm.
