NEW DELHI: Facebook-owned WhatsApp has rolled out various new features for its users. It has now been reported that the company is working on yet another interesting feature which will further enhance the user experience.
As reported by WABeta Info, the popular instant messenger is now working on introducing picture-in-picture mode for watching video inside WhatsApp. The company is planning to incorporate a pop-up/floating window in which the video will start playing without hampering your chat experience.
The report also suggests that the company has also submitted the new update via Google Play Beta Program, which shows that the update consists of picture-in-picture mode support for Android. The update submitted comes with the version number 2.18.234.
On the other hand, WhatsApp already allow its users to watch YouTube videos within the app and the users don’t have to exit the app. This feature was introduced earlier this year.
Recently, WhatsApp rolled out group voice and video calling feature for all its users across the globe. In an official blog post the company said, “Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day. We’re excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today.”
