Xiaomi Redmi 6 to launch on June 12: All you need to know


Xiaomi is all set to launch the new budget smartphone in China. Dubbed Redmi 6, the smartphone is likely to launch on June 12. Though so far there is no official date for the smartphone’s India launch, it is likely that Redmi 6 launches in India soon.

Xiaomi is speculated to launch several variants of Redmi 6 smartphone. Reports suggest that there could three models of the Redmi 6 with model numbers M1804C3DE, M1804C3CC and M1804C3CE. The Redmi 6 device with model number M1804C3DE comes with a dual-lens rear camera while the other two models has a regular single-lens rear camera. According to Chinese certification website TENNA, the Redmi 6 could feature a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9 with a display notch.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. Reports claim that it could come with the latest MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. Other expected specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 include a 3,000mAh, 5MP front camera along with a dual-lens setup at the back with a 12MP primary sensor. The device could be launched in three different RAM options — 2GB, 3GB and 4GB.

The smartphone will house dual-SIM card slots and will also come equipped with a fingerprint and infrared sensor. On the connectivity front, it is said to offer 4G, VoLTE,3GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. As per speculations, Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 6 in Blue, Black, Silver, White, Gold, Purple and Red colour options.

The company had recently launched its Redmi Y2 smartphone in India. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 comes at a starting
price of Rs 9,999. The company has priced the 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage variant at Rs 9,999 and the 4GB RAM with the 64GB internal storage variant at Rs 12,999 respectively.
